Antigua has developed a remarkable finishing process—often employing 25 or more steps—to bring out the true grain and character of our exotic hardwoods.
The procedure includes a cycle of hand-distressed detailing, sanding, waxing and lacquering on layer over layer of finish. The end result is a beautiful, resilient piece of furniture with a remarkable “hand”.
Our finishes are offered in 13 varieties:
Standard - light distress, un-waxed.
Standard Waxed - light distress, waxed & hand-rubbed.
Heavy Distress - heavy distress, un-waxed.
Heavy Distress Waxed - heavy distress, waxed & hand-rubbed.
Medium Gloss – 60 Sheen, un waxed, no distressing.
High Gloss – 90 Sheen, un waxed, no distressing.
Natural Finish – linseed oil, hand rubbed bees wax.
Painted Finish standard – light distressing, un wax.
Painted Finish Distressed – Heavy Distressing, un wax.
